He is Our Defender

The Lord has been ministering to me regarding oppressive spirits that would try to hold us back and hinder our forward progress through familiar and personal (emotional) tactics. Over the past month I have had dreams of areas that were still sensitive and fragile. I have invited the Lord into those places and am seeking Him for His comfort, strength and courage to let it go and allow it to be healed and restored and for His justice. I received the following verse as our promise.

But with righteousness and justice He will judge the poor, And decide with fairness for the downtrodden of the earth; And He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, And with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked. - Isaiah 11:4 AMP

Sometimes we can lack trust in certain areas where we have been hurt or oppressed in. He has been reminding me that my trust and faith is to be in Him and only Him. He is a faithful God and has given us a voice to say NO and to pray and believe Him to step in as our Protector and Loving Father.

Show Your marvelous lovingkindness by Your right hand, O You who save those who trust in You From those who rise up against them. Keep me as the apple of Your eye; Hide me under the shadow of Your wings. - Psalm 17:7-8 NKJV

I want to encourage you on today that when your identity is in Him, the tactics of the enemy no longer work. God has made you bold and courageous and commands us to love ourselves as we love our neighbors. Keep your hearts soft and accessible to Him and others. Yes, we must guard our hearts, but be careful not to harden them. God is our Defender. Pray for and extend grace to yourselves and others and ask for mercy and compassion which is new each day. Our fear must be only of the Lord.
